Sensor cleaning a follow up

02Apr14

Last year we touched on cleaning the sensor of your DSLR/Mirrorless camera.

Here is last years post on cleaning  sensors
https://southerncameras.wordpress.com/2013/04/30/cleaning-the-sensor/

Nearly a year on, I thought i would revisit the subject as its one that many are still wary of.

One of the big reasons why i thought i would revisit is that now more camera makers are making thinner or removing

the Anti Aliasing/Low Pass filter on the front of sensor.  Cameras like the Pentax K-3, Olympus OM-D EM-1, Nikon D800E, D7100 etc have sensors like this.
The sensors still have some glass in front of the sensor, but its very thin and can be scratched easier than the older cameras.

The good news is that the proceedures are the same as before, Visible Dust make swabs and liquid to cope with these new sensor designs.

We have these kits instock for APS-C and Micro 4/3  available for sale, or we can do it instore for you.
